Football World Cup is near!
In my country, Mexico, football is the most popular sport and even though there´s people that doesn´t follow a national team or care about it (like me), the World Cup is the only time when those like me watch the matches and scream as maniacs "GGOOOOOOOOLL!!". Believe me when I say it´s a whole new experience to watch football with mexicans and in a mexican sport´s channel.

For the moment, you can support our team on Friday against Cameroon, but not before the Big Opening: Brasil and Croatia on Thursday 12.

Now let´s talk about the fashion in Football, Pumas, Adidas, Nike and Marathon (only in Ecuador´s uniform) are the main sport brands in the Cup´s jerseys, some countries have a collar, others have lines, squares or a plain color (Netherland´s Orange <3), but this time Brasil is the one who takes the attention of Nike and the rest of the World.

Martin Lotti (Creative director of Nike, above) says the inspiration for this Cup in Brasil´s jerseys is Jordan 6 Retro Sneakers that Neyman loves and because they are going for their sixth star (five World Cups won), hence why they went for the Jordan 6.

Nike also redesigned the Brasilian badge with the phrase"Born to play Football".
For the street clothes (men and women), Nike made a collaboration with Flip (a brasilian graffiti artist).

Martin says that one of the differences about Olympic Games and Football World Cup is a whole culture that runs really deep in the national pride, so being able to translate the feelings into product is challenging.

"If you feel and look good, your performance is always good"

 The 3D Bag
Only three guys will have one of the first 3D-printed bag for Nike: Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
The bottom of the bag is printed, it gives the structure and protection needed in very lightweight. The pattern was inspired by the Magista(Football cleats), it has rich leather in a mechanical bond (no glue nor sewing involve) and it looks amazing.

La Verde
Mexico´s principal uniform is a good propose, it has the colours of the flag, green in different tones, some lines in white and red surrounding the badge (resembling wrestling masks), but the substitute uniform is completely unexpected.
When I first saw it was in Mexico vs Israel match and I did like the colour, but when the cameras approached to one player and saw the zigzagged lines in black the first thing that came into my mind was a typical mexican clay jug.

What´s supposed to do with football? It´s not intimidating nor daring, but according to Adidas, younger population will buy it  and feel identified with it because they can be distinguished from older generations. This trick was played before with the black jersey the last World Cup in South Africa and it looked much better than this one (for me), may be if they had inverted the colours I would like it, but it´s something that has no return and we can only wait for the sale´s results.
